Local community

At Marienlyst, our responsibility extends beyond the hotel. We participate in local events, collaborate with local suppliers, and support social initiatives. Surplus food is donated to shelters, we bake cakes for nursing homes, and we invite the local community in for fellowship and experiences. Marienlyst has a good working relationship with the local area and continuously launches initiatives that are expanded and improved. Here are some examples of these initiatives.

Responsibility for the future of the coast
Through MeetDenmark's Sustainability in the Value Chain program, Marienlyst has therefore worked to identify innovative and sustainable business opportunities that can create value for both the company and its surroundings. 

Storms and floods have left their mark on both the hotel and the surrounding area. That is why Marienlyst Strandhotel has taken the initiative to set up a network group with local stakeholders who are working to find joint solutions for coastal protection. Together, we have drawn up an action plan with network meetings, fundraising, and information campaigns, and created a partnership that shows how business and social responsibility can go hand in hand. Social sustainability as a strength
Starting in the fall of 2025, Marienlyst will participate in MeetDenmark's project Sustainability in the Value Chain. The focus is on translating social responsibility into business value. A survey by MeetDenmark and Optimeet shows that 76% of Danish meeting buyers demand sustainability – and almost 60% set requirements for social conditions.
Social sustainability gives Marienlyst the opportunity to continue this development.
