A greener approach
We would like you to join us on our green journey, and here are some easy ways you can get involved:
Help us sort waste
We sort all our waste, and you can easily help. In your room and in the conference rooms, you can place bottles, paper, and plastic on the table or next to the trash can, and our wonderful colleagues will take care of the rest.
Drink water straight from the tap
In Denmark, tap water is clean, tastes good, and is much more climate-friendly than bottled water. That's why we don't sell spring water in plastic bottles. Instead, we offer Thoreau water to all our guests.
Use your towel for an extra day
Want to help save water, energy, and detergent? Then hang up your towel so you can use it for an extra day. If you leave it on the floor, we will of course change it.
Skip cleaning and save resources
If you are staying for several nights, you can choose to skip cleaning. This saves water, energy, and cleaning products, and you help us take care of the environment.

The hotel is surrounded by beautiful nature experiences, running routes, bike paths, and coastal life. Immerse yourself in the local area with its maritime culture, charming streets, and the story of Hamlet just around the corner.

Come greener to Marienlyst
It's easy to get to Marienlyst in an eco-friendly way. Trains and buses stop just a few steps from the hotel, and if you choose to take the train, you can almost step right into the lobby. If you're arriving via Helsingør, the hotel is easily accessible by bus, taxi, or a beautiful walk along the waterfront. If you drive an electric car, we have 23 charging stations that can be used and paid for easily via an app – no membership required. Parking is paid parking for all guests and can be paid for via an app or payment machine.
During your stay, you can borrow a bike free of charge and explore the area, the beach promenade, and Helsingør's charming streets. If you prefer to walk, the surrounding area offers some of Denmark's most beautiful coastlines – perfect for both short and longer walks. We prioritize electric taxis when booking taxis, and if you are coming via Sweden, the ferries between Helsingør and Helsingborg run on electric or hybrid technology, making the crossing both fast and more climate-friendly.
